Manage Deal Ownership and Visibility

CreamSoda offers a robust system for managing resources such as Persons, Companies, and Deals. A key feature of this system is the ability to assign ownership and control visibility of these resources. This article provides a brief overview of these features.

Deal Ownership

In CreamSoda, every resource, such as Person, Company, Deal, or List, can have an owner. The owner is typically the team member who is primarily responsible for that resource. For example, in the case of a Deal, the owner might be the salesperson who is in charge of that particular deal.

Ownership is important because it helps organize resources and assign responsibilities within your team. It ensures that every resource has a point person who is accountable for it.

Visibility of Deals

Along with ownership, CreamSoda CRM also allows you to control the visibility of your deals. This means you can choose who within your organization can view and edit a particular Deal.

Visibility settings help maintain privacy and control over your data. For instance, you might want to restrict visibility of certain Deals to the management team only, or you might want to make certain Companies visible to the entire sales team.

Create a Deal with an Owner

In CreamSoda, you can assign an owner to a deal during its creation. Here are the steps to do so:

1. Click on the Create New menu item from the left menu bar.
2. Select Deal from the list.
3. Fill out the relevant information of the Deal in the form that appears.
4. In the Owner field, select the name of the user you want to assign as the owner of the Deal.
5. After all the necessary information is filled out, click the Create button to finalize the creation of the Deal with its owner.

Update Ownership and Visibility 

Updating ownership and visibility in CreamSoda is straightforward:

• Open the Deal you want to assign ownership or set visibility for.
• Look for the Owners & Followers card.

• Hover over the Owner name and type the name of the new owner.
• Select the desired name to update ownership of the Deal.

All resources in CreamSoda are accessible to the users of your organization. To restrict access of a resource to certain users only, enable the Viewable by Owners & Followers only option. Once this option is turned on, only the users specified under Owner and Follower(s) sections will be able to access this resource.
